Karrot Animation was established in 2008 by Jamie Badminton, Chris White and Tim O’Sullivan. Together they have years of shared experience in television, stage and screen production.

 

Their first major CBBC commission has recently aired on BBC1 and the studio now offers a complete commercial service to produce adverts, music videos, shorts, web content, and development for TV series and features.

    Jamie Badminton

    Producer & Creative Director

    Jamie started his career in production, storyboarding and animation on CGI feature Valiant (2005). He then co-wrote and illustrated Karrot’s first project; the first title in a self-published children’s book series, Hairy Ponies and Friends. He has also taught regular Animation History lectures at degree-level at The Arts Institute at Bournemouth.

    Tim O’Sullivan

    Creative and Studio Director

    Tim heads up Karrot Animation’s production studio, developing new projects and directing commercial work. He has animated on several tv series, title sequences and the Greirson award winning documentary ‘Here’s Johnny’. He has just finished directing our first series commission for Unique TV and CBBC.

    Executive Producer

    Chris has over 20 years of proven success and experience in brand marketing, theatre and events management. He founded product design and manufacturing company Bluwstuff in 2002, creators of a wide portfolio of novelty gifts and for the last 6 years Chris has managed BluwCreative, Karrot's web production partners.

    Rufus Blacklock

    Animator and Concept Artist

    Rufus was plucked directly from last year’s graduates from The Arts Institute at Bournemouth for One Minute Wonders. He is taking a lead role in the development of new projects whilst continuing to lend his talents to commercial opportunities. Rufus is also a versatile musician.

    Animator

    Tony also animated on our CBBC show, impressing with his effortlessly slick traditional animation skills. His first film ‘One Devil and His Dog’ is currently touring the world with Spike and Mike’s Sick and Twisted Animation festival.

    Animator

    Tom has had years of experience developing Flash animated work around London, and  took a lead animation role on One Minute Wonders with the show’s principle character, Missit.

    Sarah Harris

    Animator

    Sarah brought her illustrative qualities to One Minute Wonders’ more painterly items, and is currently working on a children’s book for Karrot Publishing and developing short film ideas for the studio.

    Hannah De Spon

    Animator

    Hannah graduated with a First in Traditional 2D Animation from the Glamorgan Centre for Art and Design Technology, and has since become a valuable member of our animation and design team. An active member of ASIFA UK's newsletter team and an experienced teacher of animation for Year 3-8 year olds.
