Judge Dredd artist’s work animated for Ch 4 Documentary

Karrot animates the dramatic story of a comic artist struck down with MS.

“Here’s Johnny” documents the life of comic book artist Johnny Hicklenton, synonymous with 2000AD’s Judge Dredd for the last two decades, and his battles since being diagnosed with MS. Brighton based filmmakers Animal Monday have combined interview, animation, and Johnny’s own commentary over 6 years worth of footage to allow viewers the chance witness Johnny’s dramatic journey, living with the disease.

In a documentary that carries real emotion weight and daring honesty, Karrot Animation was delighted to help explain and metaphor sequences in the film with original animation. After its premiere at the Science Museum, London in January 2008, the film is currently touring festivals (including South By Southwest in Texas), and a Channel 4 airdate is expected to be announced shortly.
